Miss America IX, recapturing the world’s speed crown at 102.256 miles per hour in Miami Beach, Florida on March 20, 1931. She surpassed the old record of 98.76 miles per hour previously held by Miss Englad II, becoming the first boat to reach and surpass 100mph.
